National Sickle Cell Awareness Month and USPS Announces Sickle Cell Stamp

Since 1975 September has been National Sickle Cell Awareness Month and this is a special year for Sickle Cell Awareness. This year the United States Postal Service will issue a commemorative Sickle Cell Disease Awareness stamp. The stamp was unveiled last year at the Dorothy Boswell Gala Awards Banquet in Los Angeles at the 31st annual Sickle Cell Disease Association of American Inc. conference.
